Longxing Duduifang
Located in front of the former residence of Tang Zhongshi, a virtuous scholar of the early Ming Dynasty, in Huaitang Village, She County. Tang Zhongshi, whose given name was Guifang and whose pen name was Guifang, served as the principal of Ziyang Academy. At the end of 1358 , Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, visited Huizhou and summoned virtuous scholars to inquire about civil affairs. He discussed the principles of the world with Tang Zhongshi . During the Zhengde reign of the Ming Dynasty, the imperial court erected this stone archway in Tang Zhongshi's honor.
The stone archway features four pillars, three rooms, and five floors. It features a ridge ornament with a giant dragon and a fish-shaped ridge ornament. Under the overhanging eaves are imitation wooden brackets, and the beams and brackets are ornately carved. A pair of crouching lions stand on the stone foundations outside the two pillars of the main hall. The lintel is inscribed with the four characters " Long Xing Du Dui . " An inscription on the dragon and phoenix plaque records a conversation between Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang and Tang Zhongshi.
Prime Minister and Champion Archway
Located at the eastern end of Huaitang Village in She County, it was built around the Southern Song Dynasty (1275-1276) and subsequently continued to be repaired throughout the dynasties. Because the " Imperial Edict " plaque on the lintel is made of red gravel rock, it is also known as the " Red Archway . " The archway features four pillars, three rooms, and three floors, with a ridgeline patterned with curling grass, and a central dome. The dragon and phoenix plaques are engraved with " Prime Minister ," and the lintel bears the characters " Zhuangyuanfang . " The right side is inscribed with " Yaqing ," and the left side has " Xueshi . "
This archway is a memorial archway for the Cheng family of Huaitang Village. It honors the Prime Minister Cheng Yuanfeng, his brother Cheng Yuanyue, his cousin Cheng Yangzu, the number one scholar in the Xinyou year of the Jingding reign of the Song Dynasty, and his nephew Cheng Nianzu. The four of them share one archway.
