Introducing Lü Xian Palace

Lü Xian Palace, also known as Dongbin Temple, is located in Shaxi Village, Qin County. Legend has it that during the reign of Emperor Baizong of the Tang Dynasty, Lü Dongbin visited the area, dug a well, and used the water to make a rich, fragrant wine. Later, a poem was erected here to commemorate him. The existing poem was rebuilt in 1613 .

The palace is 6 meters deep and 3.5 meters wide. In the center of the back wall stands a stone carving of Lü Dongbin, painted by Liu Lian, a painter from Qian County during the Wanli period. The carving is lifelike, depicting him with flowing beard, fluttering robes, and a sword on his feet, as he braves the waves and crosses the sea. Inlaid on the left and right walls are four-sided inscriptions. The well, to the right of the palace, features a cast iron octagonal curb. The curb is 56 cm high, the base 22 cm high, and the inner diameter of the well mouth is 56.5 cm .

An inscription on the outer wall of the fence reads, "Record of the New Iron Fences Installed at Shaxi's Renovation of the Fairy Well," detailing the reasons for the well's renovation. The base is decorated with dragon banners. The well platform is constructed from three massive stones, surmounted by a carving depicting two dragons playing with a pearl. Beside the well stands a stone couplet inscribed with the words, " A single grain of water, a thousand years of water; two streams, a hundred generations of light . " The temple and well are now designated as key cultural relics under Feng County's protection.
