Introducing Ouyang Xiu Memorial Hall

The Ouyang Xiu Memorial Hall was built in 1961. The name of the hall was written by Mr. Guo Moruo in 1962. Inside the hall, there is a statue of Ouyang Xiu and 30 murals that fully introduce his life. On both sides of the pavilion corridor are inlaid with inscriptions of "The Drunken Old Man Pavilion" written by many famous calligraphers of past dynasties, such as Su Shi, Su Tangqing, Zhao Mengfu, Zhu Zhishan, Dong Qichang, Wen Zhengming, and Huang Yuanzhi. The exhibition hall actually displays photos of the party and state leaders when they visited Langya Mountain. On the cliff, there are cliff carvings on the top and pavilions and fish ponds below. The combination of mountains and water in movement and stillness, the traditional Chinese garden art is fully displayed here, which is breathtaking.

The Ouyang Xiu Memorial Hall, located on Mount Langya in Chuzhou, Anhui Province, houses a reconstructed statue of Ouyang Xiu and 30 of his paintings from his lifetime. Following the failure of the Qingli New Deal, Ouyang Xiu was exiled to Chuzhou. During this time, he penned the timeless masterpiece "The Drunken Pavilion," which has become a quintessential part of Mount Langya's cultural heritage. To commemorate Ouyang Xiu, the Chuzhou Municipal Government, Anhui Province, solicited Mr. Guo Moruo's handwritten inscription for the memorial hall in the 1960s, when planning the construction. The newly completed hall features a reconstructed statue of Ouyang Xiu and 30 of his paintings.
