Ancient Huidao
In Dashan Village lies the ancient Huidao Road, a key thoroughfare connecting Huizhou with Anqing, then the capital of Anhui Province. Paved entirely with bluestone, the road winds its way through the mountains, deep into the forest, its end seemingly unseen. This historically significant road served as a crucial transportation route from Anqing, the capital of Anhui Province, from the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, connecting Huizhou in Anhui Province with Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, and other provinces. Qing annals call it the "Huirao Tongqu."
Colorful Jade Valley
Shaded by dense trees, the sound of gurgling water drifts through the valley. This all serves as a prelude, highlighting the extraordinary beauty of Xianyu Mountain's Colorful Jade Valley. On rainy days, the Colorful Jade Valley resembles a long dragon swimming across the waves, then soaring into the sky with a rustling sound. Its momentum is much more subdued. Even so, it evokes awe, and one fears there's no other canyon in the world as deep and winding as this.
