Hongcao Lake Wetland Park, located in Xicheng District, Tianchang City, Anhui Province, has been a vast riverbank wetland since ancient times. Red grass, hence the name, is a herbaceous plant that blooms bright green in spring, turns yellow in summer, and in autumn and winter, its stems resemble fire and its flowers resemble snow, creating a scene of unparalleled beauty.
In the 1950s and 1960s, Hongcao Lake shimmered with shimmering waves and lush green grass, a vibrant scene. In spring, the lake was awash with greenery, and the lakeside grasslands were a place where pigs, horses, cattle, and sheep could graze. In summer, people enjoyed the lake and unexpectedly found a variety of fish, shrimp, crabs, and other aquatic creatures. In autumn, Hongcao Lake shimmered in orange, and people used the green grass for firewood, harvesting it in one season to provide a year's supply. In winter, the sight of Hongcao Lake in rain and snow was a breathtaking sight.
The park is now divided into two gardens, north and south, and nine scenic areas. Surrounded by clear water, winding pools, and cascading springs and waterfalls, the park demonstrates the ingenious water management. The vast expanse of greenery, lush trees, wetland red grass, and verdant bamboo and lotus flowers demonstrates the extensive greenery. The pavilions, towers, plank roads, covered bridges, and strategically placed fitness plazas and tourist attractions within the park demonstrate the meticulous landscape design. Being immersed in this truly relaxing and enjoyable experience will leave you reluctant to leave.
