Wushan, located in the central part of Fuzhou City, is known as the " Three Mountains of Fuzhou ". It has been a tourist attraction since the Tang Dynasty . The Daoshan mentioned in "Daoshan Pavilion Record" written by Zeng Gong, one of the " Eight Great Masters of Tang and Song Dynasties " , refers to Wushan.
The mountain boasts over 200 cliff carvings left by ancient people , each showcasing exquisite seal, official, regular, running, and cursive scripts. Among these, the seal script of Tang Dynasty calligrapher Li Yangbing is truly exceptional. The most famous cliff carving is the seal script inscription " Prajna Terrace " by Li Yangbing , the oldest surviving stone carving in Fuzhou and a truly exceptional example.
Wu Pagoda is located on the eastern slope of Wu Mountain, facing the White Pagoda on Yu Mountain. The tower is made of granite and has a slightly black appearance due to its age, which is in line with its name. Many people take photos here.
In addition, there are many memorial temples built in successive dynasties on Wushan Mountain, such as the Zhuzi Temple commemorating Zhu Xi of the Song Dynasty, the Jiuxian Temple commemorating nine famous scholars in Fujian Province, and the Qi Yu Ergong Temple commemorating Qi Jiguang and Yu Dayou, the famous generals who fought against Japanese pirates in the Ming Dynasty.
