Introducing Luoxing Tower

Luoxing Pagoda, commonly known as Moxin Pagoda, is located on Luoxing Mountain in Mawei Port, 21 kilometers southeast of Fuzhou City. Luoxing Park has been developed beneath the pagoda. Legend has it that Luoxing Pagoda was built by Liu Qiniang during the Song Dynasty. Luoxing Mountain was originally an island in the middle of the river, commonly known as Moxin Island. Over the centuries, Moxin Island became connected to the mainland, becoming a high point above the land.

Luoxing Pagoda stands 31.5 meters tall, with seven stories and eight corners, each with stone railings and eaves. Eight Buddha statues are placed above the eaves, and wind chimes hang below, tinkling in the sea breeze. It is an internationally recognized navigation mark and a landmark for the Minjiang River, earning it the nickname " China Pagoda . "

The deep waters and gentle currents here make it easy for ships to anchor. However, above and below the pier, there are numerous reefs and rocks that can easily sink ships . To help ships leaving the harbor identify their direction, this tower was built as a navigational beacon. Luoxing Pagoda was destroyed during the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt during the Tianqi reign. After a major renovation in 1964 , visitors can ascend to the seventh floor and gaze out over the magnificent scenery of two mountains nestled between three rushing rivers.
