The Kongtong Islands include the main island Kongtong Island and more than a dozen small islands and reefs surrounding it, including Wofo Island, Danzi Island, Chai Island, Ma Island (also known as Wenqu Island), Kongtong Island, Xuanwu Island (also known as Turtle Island and Snake Island), Yuanbao Island, and Tian'e Island. The archipelago is staggered and of various shapes, surrounding the main island like stars surrounding the moon.
