Introducing Penglai Pavilion

Penglai Pavilion, located in Penglai, Yantai City, Shandong Province, is one of the four famous towers of ancient China and a complex of ancient buildings that embodies the wisdom and artistry of the ancient Chinese working people. The main structure of Penglai Pavilion was built in 1061, the sixth year of the Jiayou reign of the Song Dynasty. Known as a "fairyland on earth," the legend of the "Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea" and the mirage are renowned both domestically and internationally.

Su Dongpo, a renowned scholar of his time, wrote of this phenomenon with his eloquent pen: "The eastern sea of clouds rises and falls, immortals appear and disappear in the clear sky, swaying and supporting the world to create a myriad of phenomena, while the multi-story buildings and green hills emerge from the rosy clouds at dawn." This is truly astonishing. Penglai Pavilion, with its unique geographical location and meteorological conditions, is one of the places in the world where this wonder of the world is most frequently observed.
