Quanzhou Zhongshan Park, located north of Weiyuan Tower at the north gate of Quanzhou city, was formerly the site of a Qing Dynasty governor's office. Spanning 102 mu (approximately 1.5 acres), it is a comprehensive park integrating leisure, fitness, and cultural activities. Currently, the park's 102 mu (approximately 1.5 acres) is divided into four areas: the greenery, culture, and shopping area in the east, the fitness and activity area in the south, the ball game area in the west, and the secluded banyan-shaded residential area in the north.
A stone lion stands in the center of the garden, and behind it are a group of monuments: the Monument to the 72 Martyrs of the 1911 Revolution and the Monument to the War Martyrs Against Japanese Aggression. Surrounding the monuments is a plaza with over 20 ancient banyan trees. Scenic spots include the "Flying Phoenix Falling into the Pond," the "Gongsheng Tower," and the "Hexagonal Pavilion." Winding paths line the perimeter, flanked by poinciana trees, and the iconic "Sun Yat-sen Memorial Bronze Statue," which stands proudly before the viewer.
