Weitou Village is located on the southeastern coastal bulge of Jinjiang City, with its coordinates at 118°34′ east longitude and 24°31′ north latitude. It enjoys a unique location, bordering the Taiwan Strait to the east and just 5.6 nautical miles from Kinmen Island, making it the closest point to the mainland. Comprising two natural villages, it covers a total area of 3 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 4,300, 3,000 migrants, and over 10,000 overseas Chinese.

It borders the Taiwan Strait to the east, beautiful Weitou Bay to the west, and Quanzhou, the "Cultural Capital of East Asia," to the north. Just 5.2 nautical miles to the south, Weitou Cape and Moon Bay are the closest points on the mainland to Taichung and Kinmen Island. Covering an area of 5.2 square kilometers and boasting a 6,500-meter coastline, Weitou boasts a permanent population of over 4,300, over 3,500 migrants, and nearly 10,000 residents from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and overseas. Weitou boasts a rich history, numerous heroes, a unique cross-strait connection, and abundant tourism resources. Especially in the "August 23" artillery battle that shocked the world in 1958, the brave Weitou people "loved their country and their hometown" and supported the war. Sixty-six people were awarded "Second Class Merit" and "Third Class Merit", and seven people were commended in Beijing. It is known as "Heroic Weitou" and "Beautiful Weitou".
