Introducing Xingeng Villa

Xingeng Villa, located in the Chengguan of Changting County, Longyan, faces east and sits west. It was originally the villa of Lu Zelin, the president of Changting Chamber of Commerce during the Republic of China period. It is also the former site of the headquarters and political department of the Red Fourth Army.

Comrades Mao Zedong and Zhu De also lived here. Comrade Mao Zedong presided over an investigation meeting and an enlarged meeting of the Front Committee of the Red Fourth Army in the hall. At the enlarged meeting, the great strategic plan for establishing the Central Revolutionary Base Area was established.

From the outside in, the Xingeng Villa consists of the main gate, courtyard, gatehouse, patio, hall, back hall, and patio. There are four symmetrical side rooms on either side of the patio in front of the hall. There are two rooms on each side of the hall and back hall. Mao Zedong and Zhu De lived in the rooms on the left and right of the hall, respectively. There are three rooms upstairs in the back hall.
