Fubo Mountain, located on the banks of the Li River north of Guilin City, is a solitary peak nestled against the water, half of it jutting into the river and the other half resting on land. It got its name from the Han Dynasty general Ma Yuan, who passed through this place during his southern expedition.
Fubo Mountain is also known as the " Fubo Scenic Spot " because of its majestic solitary peak, half resting on land and half jutting into the river, thus preventing the swirling waves. Every spring and summer, when the river waters surge, the foothills of the mountain stop the turbulent waves, causing the river to reverse and swirl, thus subduing the waves.
The scenic area boasts attractions such as Guishui Pavilion, Tingtao Pavilion, Banshan Pavilion, Huanzhu Cave, Mi Fu's self-portrait, and Thousand Buddha Cave. It also boasts a " Thousand-person Pot " weighing over 1,000 kilograms and a bell weighing over 2,700 kilograms. Inside Huanzhu Cave, a massive rock dangling from the ceiling suddenly breaks off just short of the ground, creating a fissure known as the "Sword-Testing Stone," which legend has it was created by General Fubo testing his sword.
In Fubo Mountain Park, a three-sided, symmetrical archway with a sloping hard ridge and covered in yellow glazed tiles resembles an ancient memorial archway. A plaque inscribed with " Fubo Evening Boat " by Chu Tunan stands atop the main structure. A 264- character couplet written by Zhang Anzhi hangs on the four main pillars . The " Fubo Scenic Spot " enriches the park's appearance and serves as a scenic spot.
