Located on the north bank of Yunlong Lake, the Xuzhou Concert Hall project comprises a concert hall, an outdoor performance plaza, and a concert hall entrance plaza, with a total construction area of over 13,000 square meters. The concert hall, with a construction area of 10,530 square meters, can accommodate 986 spectators.
The Xuzhou Concert Hall's exterior is inspired by the crape myrtle, creating a building resembling a flower blooming in water. The design was driven by the unique nature of the city flower, hoping this iconic public cultural building would possess a uniquely urban character. Furthermore, the site's characteristics led to the desire for the building to exhibit a more natural form, blending seamlessly into the surrounding natural environment. Another crucial element stemmed from a deep understanding of the beauty of the city.
The outdoor performance plaza draws inspiration from the surrounding Yunlong Lake, Yunlong Mountain, Zhushan Mountain, and Shayue Island, creating a harmonious blend of mountains, water, and architecture. The main body of the concert hall is a double-height auditorium, surrounded by three levels of viewing platforms, extending the outdoor natural landscape indoors. Carefully designed circulation for audience, logistics, performers, and scenery, as well as functional zoning, embody the architectural characteristics of a modern concert hall.
