Introducing Bayinbuluke

The Bayinbuluke Grassland, meaning "rich in springs" in Mongolian, is 636 kilometers from Korla City. It is a typical grass meadow and the most fertile summer pasture in the southern foothills of the Tianshan Mountains. The famous Swan Lake is located on the Bayinbuluke Grassland, southwest of Bayin Township, approximately 60 kilometers from the Bayinbuluke District Government in Hejing County, Xinjiang.

The reserve boasts lush vegetation, a humid climate, and stunning scenery. It is home to my country's largest population of wild swans, serving as a breeding and summer habitat for the birds. In the early morning, as smoke curls from distant yurts, swans of all sizes circle in the distant valley.

As the sun rose, the reflection of the snow-capped mountains gradually became clearer, and water birds such as wild ducks, larks, and skylarks started a lively "bird chorus" on the lake.

Climate and best time to travel

The best time to visit Bayinbuluke Grassland is from June to September each year, as it is relatively cold at other times.

Nine bends and eighteen turns

Looking up, the mountains are covered in dense, lush pines, layer upon layer, a deep, dark green. The undulating peaks resemble surging wind and clouds, and the pine waves resembling galloping horses. Looking down, the breathtaking beauty unfolds like a painting. The winding, rugged Nine-Curve River weaves like a dragon passing through its waters. The lush green of the willows on the banks is dotted with tall, handsome poplar trees. Playful wild ducks soar overhead, and the chirping of mountain sparrows evokes a sense of reverie... Especially in the early morning or after rain, when the swirling clouds and mist permeate the air, you feel as if you are stepping on auspicious clouds, a journey among the immortals.
