Jiulonggou, located in Sanlang Town, northwest of Chongzhou City, gets its name from the mythical legend of "Nine gullies, nine grooves, and nine dragons." This area, nestled within the frontal fault zone of the Longmen Mountain Range, boasts complex geological structures. The mountains range from 700 to 3,868 meters above sea level, creating a dramatic relative height difference. The area boasts steep cliffs, cascading waterfalls, deep ravines, and numerous unusually shaped peaks and rocks, resembling dragons, as well as cascading waterfalls and springs.
The sound of water hitting rocks in Jiulonggou resembles a dragon's roar or howl, the boulders lie like coiled or sleeping dragons, and the towering peaks resemble soaring or reclining dragons, creating a truly living "Dragon Palace on Earth." A legendary legend spread among the people of Chongzhou goes as follows: "Nine dragons emerged from Jiulong Pond, met at Jiulong Mountain, and returned to Jiulonggou to settle down, leaving behind nine grooves and nine gullies on the Dragon Licking Stone."

It consists of three parts: Jiulonggou Water and Stone Scenic Area, Daxishan Primeval Forest Scenic Area and ancient temple. The dynamic water and stone landscape of Jiulonggou is the most fascinating and is the main part of the scenic area. There are fossil rocks, Pearl Spring Dragon Stone Rock, Dragon Girl Washing Silk Pool, Dragon Licking Stone, Zuantian Peak, Xiangshuigou, Jiulong Waterfall and other landscapes. Among them, the "Jiulong Waterfall" formed by the melting snow of the Dragon Girl is more than 10 meters wide and more than 100 meters high. It is a rare waterfall in Chengdu.
Hidden within the dense forest lies a majestic ancient temple, one of the largest and best-preserved ancient temples in the Chengdu area. The Daxishan virgin forest belt is home to rare animals such as giant pandas, golden monkeys, and wildebeests, creating a vast expanse of forest that exudes a strong sense of wildness.
