Xiguan Mosque, also known as Phoenix Temple, is located on the north side of Zhengzhong Road in Xiguandongxi Dajie Village, Bo'ai County. It is an ancient palace-like complex covering an area of approximately 7.9 mu. Construction began in 1250 AD , and with a history of over 600 years, it is known as the " First Mosque in Hebei . "
Visiting the entire temple, one gets a very good impression: it is located in a bustling city but the environment is elegant and quiet; it has a long history but combines the ancient and modern; it is staggered in height but harmoniously arranged; it covers a large area but has a rigorous structure, especially the magnificent buildings, carved beams and painted rafters, vivid shapes, antique style and the ornaments hanging on the curved roof.
The plaques and couplets in the main hall , such as " A Hundred-Character Praise of Zhu Yuanzhang " , " The dark universe still needs the brightness of the sun and the moon, the hazy mind must be enlightened by the orthodox teachings " , " To participate in the creation is not lofty, but only to keep one principle in mind; to truly believe in the Lord, who has no shadow or form, relies entirely on all things to bear witness " , and " Believe in the Six Precepts, explore the origin, trace the source, reveal the truth and preserve the authenticity; follow the Five Merits, open up the blocked, and restore the truth to the origin " are even more moving, making people want to sing and write poetry, and linger back.
