Introducing Zhoukou Folk Museum
The Zhoukou Folk Museum, located in the Guandi Temple in Zhoukou, has a collection of 2,562 cultural relics , which are divided into eight categories: ceramics, bronzes, irons, stoneware, jades, bone tools, calligraphy and painting, and folk cultural relics .
The main collection includes a sunflower-shaped mirror with orioles and peonies. This mirror, dating from the Tang Dynasty, is sunflower-shaped, with two symmetrical groups of orioles, peonies, and a precious flower-shaped button base. The mirror is lacquered in an antique black lacquer finish, making it a typical Tang Dynasty bronze mirror. Large in size and exquisitely crafted, its glossy black lacquer reflects the superb casting techniques and ingenuity of the craftsmen who crafted these mirrors.
