Fuyi Granary Ruins Park is located near the Dadou Road Historic District in Gongshu District. Originally built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, Fuyi Granary was named to symbolize " prosperity through benevolence and righteousness through harmony . " Back then, all the rice used in Hangzhou was transported via the Grand Canal and stored in Fuyi Granary. Along with Beijing's Nanxin Granary, it was known as the " World Granary , " earning the saying, " There's Nanxin Granary in the north, and Fuyi Granary in the south . "

The granary consists of 13 buildings. Building 1, the main gate, faces the canal pier. The words " Socialist Dazhai " are painted in red . The door frame dates back to the late Qing Dynasty, making it a century old. The inscriptions were written in the 1960s and have been preserved in their original form .
