Qiuxue'an, also known as Qiu'an, is located in the heart of the Xixi Hezhu Wetland. Surrounded by water, it is the only scenic spot within the Xixi Scenic Area accessible by boat . The renowned Ming Dynasty calligrapher and painter Chen Jiru inscribed the name " Qiu'an . " Qiu'an is the core scenic spot among the " Eight Scenic Spots of Autumn " and a tranquil haven within the Hezhu scenic area.
Qiuxuean originally had a two-courtyard layout. The buildings in the first courtyard were mainly used for Buddhist culture. In the second courtyard, a shrine for poets from Liangzhe was added in the early years of the Republic of China, enshrining a list of more than a thousand poets. It is an important place reflecting the cultural heritage of Xixi. There is a stone walkway in front of the door, and it is the core scenic spot of the " Eight Scenic Spots of Xixi " .
Xixi's reeds come in three varieties: reed, bamboo, and reed, most of which are concentrated around Qiuxue Temple. Climbing Qiuxue Temple's Danzhi Tower at this time of year offers a breathtaking view of the distant mountains, the misty water nearby, and the reeds, more beautiful than snow, a scene so enchanting that one forgets to return home. When the wind blows, the dense reeds resemble snowflakes blanketing the beach, spreading with the waves, creating a single color. It truly feels like a house on the reeds, a boat among them.
Suitable for all seasons, best in spring and autumn
In Xixi, the best place to enjoy reeds is Qiuxue Temple. In autumn, the area around Qiuxue Temple is filled with endless reed marshes, presenting a vast expanse of white that makes one feel cold and indifferent.
