Tong Dizhou's former residence in Qingdao is located at Building 1, No. 36, Yushan Road. The current residence is no longer open to the public, and the main gate is closed. There is a courtyard at the back with several small Western-style buildings. Various flowers and plants are planted in the courtyard, as well as vegetables.
This is a two-story Japanese-style building. Tong Dizhou lived in the easternmost end. The existing house was built in the late Qing Dynasty. It is 22 meters deep and 21.5 meters wide, facing north and south.
There are more than 10 pieces of Qing-style furniture in the house, including a bed, table, writing desk, wardrobe, and chairs, all of which are well preserved. The road is paved with cobblestones with circular patterns, and the surrounding cobblestones are paved with square patterns.
Qingdao is located in the northern temperate monsoon region and has a temperate monsoon climate with humid air, abundant rainfall, moderate temperature and distinct four seasons.
