Yingxiu Town, located in the south of Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province, is adjacent to the Wolong Nature Reserve. It is the gateway to Aba and a must-go for tourists visiting Jiuzhaigou, Wolong and Siguniang Mountain.

On May 12, 2008, a magnitude 8.0 earthquake struck Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province, followed by several strong aftershocks in the following days. Yingxiu Town was the epicenter and the hardest-hit area. After the disaster, Aba Prefecture adhered to the basic principles of "not seeking size, but beauty in smallness, exquisiteness, authenticity, and safety" and built Yingxiu Town into a modern earthquake-resistant architecture museum.

At the intersection of Yingxiu Town, a huge stone with the words "5.12 Epicenter Yingxiu " written on it stands out. The words are particularly eye-catching. This huge stone was rolled down by the mountain during the earthquake and now serves as a landmark sign for Yingxiu, the epicenter.
