The Dazhoushan Stone Forest is located 13 kilometers southeast of Yi County, in the Ye Village of Xidi Town, and 5 kilometers from the Xidi Scenic Area, a World Cultural Heritage Site. It is a unique geological and natural landscape in Yi County, covering an area of 32 hectares (480 mu). The Dazhoushan Stone Forest is a karst landform, also known as karst landform. The entire mountain is composed of countless unique peaks and rocks. Characterized by their thin, wrinkled, porous, and transparent appearance, the peaks are sometimes interconnected and meandering, while others stand proudly as individual peaks.
Ascending the mountain, each layer of rock reveals a myriad of shapes and forms, dotted with caves and gullies. Individually, each stone is a remarkable display of varying sizes and forms, some resembling tigers, others sheep, and even figures. Each piece is a true masterpiece of divine craftsmanship, each exquisitely crafted. Currently, the local area has developed a 50,000-square-meter Stone Forest tourist area, complete with infrastructure such as a tourist highway, parking lots, sightseeing trails, a visitor service center, and water features.
The subtropical monsoon climate makes it suitable for travel in all seasons to appreciate the stone forest here.
