Introducing Danxia Peak

Danxia Peak, one of the 36 major peaks, stands at 1,664 meters above sea level. Its ochre-colored walls, bathed in the rosy glow of the setting sun, create a vibrant display of color, hence the name "Danxia Peak." Danxia Peak is located at the eastern end of the Xihai Grand Canyon of Huangshan Mountain, between Shigu Peak and Xihaimen. Below the peak lies a red water source, which feeds Danxia Creek. In front of the peak stands a stone sculpture depicting Bodhidharma facing the wall, and to the east, a stone sculpture depicting a white horse carrying scriptures. Both are incredibly lifelike and captivating.

Two new winding paths have been built on Danxia Peak, leading to the summit where you can watch both the sunrise and sunset. Standing on the summit, you can take in the panoramic views of the peaks of the West Sea.

I woke up early to watch the sunrise from Danxia Peak. My alarm went off at 4:20 AM, and I could already hear people moving around outside. I got up, put on my long trousers and jacket, and the half-length down jacket the hotel had provided, and headed out. It was still dark outside, even with a hint of pale sky in the east.
