Gongchen Bridge, located north of Daguan Bridge in Hangzhou city, is the longest and tallest stone arch bridge among the ancient bridges in Hangzhou, and marks the end point of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal in Hangzhou.

First built in the fourth year of the Chongzhen reign of the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in the eleventh year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty, the bridge is 92 meters long and 5.9 meters wide. Constructed of staggered stone slabs, it is topped with long lockstones. The bridge deck forms a gently curved, three-arch stone arch. The " Chen " in Gongchen Bridge means imperial palace, and the tall, arched stone bridge symbolizes a welcoming and respectful gesture towards the emperor, hence the name.
