Plum Blossom Spring is located in the newly constructed "Qingzhao Garden" of Baimai Spring Park, north of Baimai Spring Park in Zhangqiu District, Jinan City. Water gushes forth from five artesian boreholes drilled in 1979, creating a cascading pond. The water then flows out of an overflow outlet, over the Jinjiang Bridge, and into the Xiujiang River. The name Plum Blossom Spring stems from the fact that the simultaneous eruption of the five springs resembles a single blossoming plum blossom. The pool covers an area of 1,800 square meters, with a normal annual flow rate of 0.5 cubic meters per second. The water rises from five peaks, resembling blooming petals, with the central pistil surging and creating ripples. Standing by the Moon-Ganning Pavilion and the Plum Blossom Spring, one can admire the majestic Yinfeng Pavilion. Crossing the flooded bridge, one can feel the spring water spraying down like raindrops, the mist soaking one's clothes, a cool breeze lingering around one's body—a breathtaking sight.
After the spring water gathers into a square pond, it flows out of the overflow outlet, over the Jinjiang Bridge and into the Xiujiang River. Standing in the Moon-Gan Pavilion beside the Plum Blossom Spring, you can watch the surging waves and the steam rising from the spring, thinking it was a fairyland on earth. Strolling along the water bridge, you can feel the spring raindrops, the droplets wet your clothes, and the cool breeze from the spring, a breathtaking beauty.
Jinan has a temperate monsoon climate with obvious monsoons and distinct four seasons: dry and rainy spring, warm and rainy summer, cool and dry autumn, and cold and snowy winter.
