Yongquan is located in Sujiazhuang, Liubu Town, in the mountainous area south of Jinan, west of the Four-Gate Pagoda. A Yongquan is a spring that gushes upward from below without gushing out. The Gongyang Commentary, Zhaogong Year 5, says: "What is a Yongquan? It's a straight spring. What is a straight spring? It's a Yongquan."
The pool is built with stone blocks and is 5 meters long, 4.5 meters wide and 2 meters deep. A tiger head is carved on the pool wall, from which water gushes out and falls with a thud, cascading down the mountain in three layers, forming three landscapes: "a steady stream of water", "flowers on the water" and "a waterfall on the cliff".
Jinan has a temperate monsoon climate with obvious monsoons and distinct four seasons: dry and rainy spring, warm and rainy summer, cool and dry autumn, and cold and snowy winter.

Yongquan is a historically important natural spring in Jinan, often called the "City of Springs." It has been celebrated for centuries for its clear water and cultural heritage, symbolizing local traditions and natural beauty.
Yongquan is located in the southwestern part of Jinan city. Visitors can reach it by taxi, public bus, or a combination of metro and walking from nearby stations.
The site is generally open from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Spring and autumn are the most pleasant seasons to visit, and early mornings or weekdays are ideal for a quieter experience.
Entrance is typically free for the spring area, though some sections may charge a small fee. Tickets, if needed, can usually be purchased on-site.
Advance booking is usually not necessary unless visiting during peak tourist seasons or special events.
Visiting Yongquan and the surrounding areas typically takes 1–2 hours.
Guided tours may be available in Mandarin. English tours or audio guides are less common but may be arranged upon request.
Start at the main spring area, then follow the garden pathways, visiting pavilions, stone inscriptions, and scenic viewpoints in a circular route back to the entrance.
Night visits and light shows are generally not offered. Special tours may be organized during local festivals or cultural events.
Yongquan is moderately visited. Weekdays and early mornings are the least crowded times.
Basic facilities include public toilets, seating areas, and small food vendors near the entrance. Water and light refreshments are available at nearby stalls.
The main areas are accessible for elderly and children, though some pathways may have uneven surfaces. Disabled access is limited in certain garden sections.
Cash is accepted, but mobile payments like WeChat Pay and Alipay are commonly used at entrance stalls and nearby shops.
Nearby streets feature local Shandong restaurants and casual eateries serving traditional dishes and snacks.
Vegetarian options are available in local restaurants, while vegan and halal offerings may require checking specialty eateries nearby.
Several hotels, ranging from budget to mid-range, are located in southwestern Jinan, providing convenient access to Yongquan.
Nearby souvenir shops sell local crafts, miniature spring-themed ornaments, and Shandong specialty products like tea.
Taxis, ride-sharing services, and public buses can take visitors to other Jinan attractions or city center locations.
