Longshan Island, located in the central area of Qiandao Lake, is the largest island. In the autumn of 1959 , with the completion of the Xin'anjiang Reservoir, Longshan became Longshan Island. The island's shape resembles a crouching dragon about to take flight, hence its name. The folk song " Tongqiao Tiejing Xiaojinshan, Shixia Academy Huolongshan " refers to this place.
The island is primarily home to cultural attractions, including the Hai Rui Ci (poems of Hai Rui), Shixia Academy, a half-acre square pond, and a bell tower. Ascending from the Hai Rui Temple, you'll be greeted by birdsong, flowers, and lush greenery. A short 500-step stone path leads directly to the Ninggu Bell Tower, where you can also gaze out over the breathtaking scenery of Thousand Island Lake, a truly scenic spot.

Shixia Academy
Located at the foot of Longshan Island, it is named after its location overlooking Shixia. Its main architectural layout consists of a hall, a main hall, a shrine, and two studios. Its architectural style is predominantly Anhui. Its simplicity yet authenticity, its elegance yet charm. Top-ranking scholar Fang Fengchen, second-place scholar Huang Tui, and third-place scholar He Menggui all met here. The emperor bestowed the plaque "Shixia Academy," which greatly enhanced the academy's reputation.
Hai Rui Temple
Hai Rui Temple is the essence of Longshan Island. It was first built in 1561 , the 41st year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty. That year , Hai Rui's term in office in Chun'an expired. In gratitude for his kindness, the locals spontaneously donated land and raised funds for its construction. Construction began for the third time on February 4 , 1985. Like a monument and a mirror in the hearts of the people of Chun'an, it serves as a reminder of the past and an inspiration for future generations.
