Located northwest of Shangmen Pagoda in Liubu Village, Licheng District, Jinan City, at the foot of Baihu Mountain, this pagoda is a scenic spot and historical site. It is famous for the dragon and tiger carvings on its gate. North of the pagoda lies a forest of 41 monk tombs, most of which date back to the Song and Yuan dynasties. While the construction date of the Dragon and Tiger Pagoda remains unknown, its architectural style suggests that the base and main body were constructed during the Tang Dynasty, with the roof added during the Song Dynasty. The pagoda is square and 10.8 meters high. Its three-story stone base features a Sumeru pedestal, surmounted by intricate arched doors depicting lotuses, lions, and musicians. The upper sections are carved with dragons, tigers, Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, powerful warriors, musicians, and flying apsaras. The interiors feature square pillars, each housing a Buddha statue. The roof is constructed of brick, with double eaves, supported by a garland of offerings, and crowned by a pagoda finial. This pagoda is magnificent and elegant, unique among existing Tang Dynasty pagodas, complementing the ancient style of the Four-Gate Pagoda.
