Meiwu, nestled two kilometers northwest of Yunqi Bamboo Path and nestled in a mountain valley at the northern foot of Langyao Mountain, is known for its early spring. Surrounded by verdant mountains and overlapping tea fields, Meijiawu, like Longjing and Shifeng, is renowned for its green, fragrant, mellow, and beautifully shaped Longjing tea. Meijiawu boasts a rich tea production, considered a treasure among West Lake Longjing teas .
Meijiawu tea picking is divided into four seasons each year. The first tea harvested before Qingming Festival is called " Mingqian Tea , " also known as " Lotus Heart Tea " ; the tea harvested before Grain Rain is called "Yuqian Tea"; the tea harvested around the Beginning of Summer is called " Sanchun Tea," also known as " Queshe Tea " ; and the tea harvested the latest, a month later, is called " Sichun Tea , " also known as " Gengpian Tea ." Therefore, "spring" in Meiwu signifies the fragrance of tea. Of the four harvests of spring tea, the earliest " Mingqian Tea " is the most valuable, earning it the name " Meiwu Spring Early " and is listed as one of the " Ten Scenic Spots of West Lake in Three Reviews . "
Facing the tea plantations and osmanthus trees all over the mountains, it is best to enjoy them slowly and leisurely. You can stay here for a whole day, leisurely sipping tea, chatting and playing cards, and fully enjoying the fragrance of tea.
" Spring " in Meiwu means the fragrance of tea. During the Qingming Festival, on the misty hillsides, the figures of tea pickers appear among the lush green tea gardens. The birds sing and the tea songs echo gracefully, adding a touch of spirituality to the beautiful mountains and plains. It is also a unique cultural landscape of West Lake in spring.
