The Zhang Cangshui Shrine is located at the foot of Lizhi Peak on Nanping Mountain in West Lake, opposite the exit of Su Causeway's Nanshan Road. It was built to commemorate Zhang Cangshui , a renowned national hero of the late Ming Dynasty, known alongside Yu Qian and Yue Fei as one of the " Three Heroes of West Lake . " Behind the shrine lies Zhang Cangshui's tomb. The reason why Zhang Cangshui, a national hero who resisted the Qing Dynasty, was buried on the shores of West Lake is a moving true story, as is the inscription " Mr. Wang's Tomb " on his tombstone.

The Zhang Cangshui Shrine, with its whitewashed walls and green tiles, is a shrine built in the style of Jiangnan residential buildings from the Qing Dynasty. Ten steles are engraved with Zhang Cangshui's deeds, poems, and inscriptions from later generations. Eight murals vividly depict his life of concern for his country and his people. Plaques written by contemporary calligraphers such as Sha Menghai and Qi Gong add to the shrine's solemnity and dignity.
