Xixin Pavilion is located within the Yunqi Bamboo Path, a famous scenic spot in Hangzhou. Yunqi Bamboo Path is west of West Lake, north of Jiuxi River, and at the foot of Wuyun Mountain. During the Jin Dynasty, Wuyun Temple was built here, but it was repeatedly rebuilt and abandoned, ultimately falling into ruin. Only Xixin Pavilion remains within the bamboo path. While not an ancient structure, it is elegant and charming.

The name of the pavilion, Xixin, means "to focus on the heart and to wash away the burden of evil." Nearby is a pool, also known as the " Xixin Pond , " with clear, cool water. Behind the pavilion stands a 1,030 -year-old sweetgum tree.
