Mount Tai National Forest Park is located in Tai'an City, central Shandong Province. Mount Tai's main peak stands at 1,545 meters above sea level. Over 20 ancient architectural complexes and over 2,200 steles and stone carvings remain on the mountain. It is one of China's first national scenic spots and was designated a national forest park in April 1985 and September 1992. It was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987.
Mount Tai is located in Tai'an City, in central Shandong Province. It borders Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province, to the north; Qufu, the hometown of Confucius, the founder of Confucianism, to the south; Zibo, the porcelain capital, to the east; and the Yellow River to the west.
It has a temperate continental semi-humid monsoon climate with distinct four seasons, moderate cold and hot seasons, synchronized light and temperature, and simultaneous rain and heat. Spring is dry and windy, summer is hot and rainy, autumn is sunny and refreshing, and winter is cold and snowy.

The entrance fee is around 80 CNY. Tickets can be purchased at the park entrance or online via local ticketing platforms.

The park is not open for night visits or light shows. However, special sunrise tours are available to catch the first light over the mountains.
The park can get crowded during weekends and public holidays. Weekdays, particularly in the off-season (late autumn and winter), are the best times for a quieter experience.
The park offers basic facilities, including toilets, water stations, rest areas, and souvenir shops. Food is available at various spots along the trails, but it is advisable to bring snacks and water for longer hikes.

After visiting, you can take a taxi or bus back to Tai'an city center. From there, you can continue your journey by train, bus, or private vehicle to other parts of Shandong.
