The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's Tingwang Mansion, located at No. 61 Xiaoying Alley in Hangzhou , boasts a history of nearly 200 years and is the only surviving Taiping Heavenly Kingdom building in Hangzhou. It is also one of the gates in the wall that Chairman Mao personally visited. A painting depicting Chairman Mao's inspection of Xiaoying Alley on January 5 , 1958 , hangs on the right wall of the mansion's front hall.

During the Taiping Rebellion, the Taiping and Qing armies engaged in a protracted battle in Hangzhou, unable to capture it. The valiant and skilled Chen Bingwen, a renowned Taiping general, was entrusted with the task. Using a few subtle tactics, he conquered Hangzhou in just two months. Later, during the Taiping's occupation of Hangzhou, Chen Bingwen established a headquarters to discuss war plans and devise strategies. This headquarters became known as the Prince Ting's Palace.

The Prince Ting's Mansion is divided into three parts: the front hall, the middle hall, and the back hall. Among the beams, pillars, brackets, window pillars, and door grilles, there are intricately carved components everywhere, all of which reflect the magnificence of the past.
