Because it's a small island on Ying Lake, Yuxing Island resembles a pearl on the surface of the water. Lush greenery abounds, and a diverse population of birds thrives, including peacocks, ostriches, guinea fowl, pigeons, and fighting cocks.
The subtropical continental monsoon climate is characterized by a humid and mild climate with distinct four seasons, abundant rainfall, and a long frost-free period. Its characteristics are cold and dry winters, rainy summers with frequent summer droughts, warm and dry springs, and cool and humid autumns with frequent periods of rain. The Bird Garden boasts over 1,100 birds of 130 species, many of them rare and exotic from tropical and subtropical regions. The garden's shape resembles a large bird spreading its wings, ready to take flight. The garden features terrain features such as mountains, hills, small ponds, and streams, tailored to the specific species. Over 6,000 trees, shrubs, and climbing plants of over 80 species have been planted, creating habitats for the birds.
