Jinghun Gorge, located within the Jiuxiang Scenic Area, is a canyon within Baixiang Cave, an underground gorge. Its dome, shaped like a cave bridge, towers majestically into the sky, yet stands in the void beneath. Atop the bridge, verdant trees teem with lush greenery; beneath, the rapids roar and rocks crash. This multifaceted landscape is not only visible and tangible, but also audible. In Yincui Gorge, one hears tranquility; in Jinghun Gorge, one hears excitement; and below, the male and female waterfalls, one hears a powerful presence.
Jinghun Gorge is about 700 meters long and is said to be the most spectacular underground canyon discovered in China. It is actually the entrance to a cave with water flowing out from the bottom. The distance from the bottom of the gorge to the top of the cave is nearly 100 meters. The narrowest part of the gorge is only three or four meters wide. It is safe for tourists to walk through and they don’t feel thrilling. It should be said that the danger was indeed thrilling when the plank road was first built.
The subtropical plateau monsoon climate makes it suitable for travel all year round. In summer, the climate is refreshing and pleasant, making it a summer resort. In autumn, the frosted leaves on the mountain are comparable to the red leaves of Xiangshan Mountain, and the sea of clouds and fog makes it seem like you are in the fairyland of Penglai. Even in the winter when other areas are covered with ice and snow, it is still sunny and windy here.
