Introducing the Well of Life

The Well of Life is a spring located in the north of Wuzhizhou Island in Sanya. Since fresh water resources have always been precious to the islanders, and this well is one of the few wells in this area that can produce fresh water on its own, the locals call it the "Well of Life."

Legend has it that a fisherman's family once made a living by fishing. One day, a typhoon struck, and a father and his two children fell overboard. Clinging to the planks of their boat, they struggled for several days, starving and thirsty, until they drifted to the beach of Wuzhizhou Island. Suddenly, they spotted a small puddle not far from the beach, saving them. They settled on the island and dug a well near the puddle, naming it the "Well of Life," for passing fishermen to use, a practice that continues to this day.
