Introducing Gulou Hall

Gulou Church, a Christian church located in Datong Lane at the southeastern foot of Wushan Mountain in Hangzhou , borders the Zhonghe Elevated Road to the east, the former residence of Hu Xueyan to the southeast, the Drum Tower (formerly known as Chaotianmen) at the intersection of Zhongshan Road and Jiang Road to the south , and the Qinghefang Historic District to the north. The five-story Gulou Church offers 1,200 standard seats and boasts comprehensive facilities and convenient transportation.

Gulou Church was founded in 1885 and was not rebuilt into a Chinese palace-style church until 1931 (the 20th year of the Republic of China). It officially reopened for worship in 1979 and was one of the first churches to open in China after the Cultural Revolution . It was also the first Christian chapel in Hangzhou to resume religious activities and began to receive foreign guests.
