Nankun National Customs Tourism Area is located at the northern foot of Jizuiling, the highest peak in Tunchang County. The main attractions are the beautiful scenery of Nankun Miao Village and the unique customs and habits of the Miao people.
When it comes to Miao customs, the clothing of both men and women is renowned for its richness and exquisiteness. The embroidered dresses, headbands, and hairpins worn by Miao girls are particularly diverse and beautiful. Miao specialties include five-color rice and bamboo tube rice. Five-color rice, a distinctive Miao dish from Hainan Province, is prepared in nearly every Miao village during the folk festival of March 3rd. Visiting during the Lunar New Year offers the opportunity to witness Miao New Year celebrations, including bullfighting, reed pipe music, and pilgrimages. The hospitable Miao people often invite visitors to dance and sing.
