The Longhongjian Scenic Area, located south of Maojiabu, West Lake in Hangzhou, is one of the three major streams in the Nanshan Mountains of West Lake and one of the four streams that provide natural water supply to West Lake. Historically, this area boasted abundant water and lush grass, becoming a popular destination for picnics and grazing during the Wu and Yue dynasties and the Song Dynasty. Large tracts of Longjing tea are cultivated on the hillsides surrounding the lake, where generations of tea farmers have thrived.
The entire scenic area is characterized by lush aquatic plants and mountains of verdant tea trees, perfectly embodying the region's pristine ecological environment and indigenous lifestyle. The area also preserves the original tea plantations, newly constructed several thatched pavilions, and creates a series of islands within the wetland, creating a winding and picturesque landscape reminiscent of a leisure farm. The newly restored Yinma Bridge and Yugou Bridge are particularly eye-catching.
