Explore the ancient ruins of Shengguo Temple, learn about its historical significance, and admire the surrounding natural landscape. Take a walk through the site’s serene environment and visit the nearby temples for a full cultural experience.

The ruins of Shengguo Temple are located on Fenghuang Mountain in Hangzhou, between the ruins of Baoen Temple and the ruins of the Southern Song Dynasty royal forbidden garden. During the Five Dynasties period, there were " Three Buddha Stones " engraved with them, which are the Three Holy Ones of the West. They are about 10 meters high and should be the largest Buddha statues in Hangzhou. Unfortunately, the existing Buddha statues are all destroyed ruins.
During the Southern Song Dynasty, the temple served as a place of worship for the imperial court, and the inscription "忠忠" (loyalty) in Zhao Gou's handwriting is still clearly visible. During the Ming Dynasty, Wang Yangming and Prime Minister Xia Yan studied here. Despite its many transformations, this area retains numerous ancient artifacts, making it arguably the most concentrated area of historical sites in Phoenix Mountain.
