Introducing Baisha Bridge

Baisha Bridge, located on the Xin'an River in the south of Jiande County, Zhejiang Province, was built in 1960 and has a history of 60 years. It was the largest stone arch bridge built in the country at that time and the first multi-hole, large-span stone arch bridge. It has become an important attraction on the Xin'an River.

The Baisha Bridge combines the structural features of the ancient Zhaozhou Bridge and Lugou Bridge in terms of construction technology. In the center of the pavilion stands a white marble stele with the words " Baisha Bridge " written by Guo Moruo . On the capitals of the bridge railings on both sides are carved 260 small stone lions with different expressions. Thanks to the protection of these beasts , it has withstood the test of dozens of flood discharges from the Xin'anjiang Hydropower Station and still stands today . It is truly as solid as a rock and has a strong and majestic posture that competes with time, making it a miracle in the history of bridges in China.
