Introducing Zixu Wild Ferry

Zixu Wild Ferry is located at the entrance of Zixu Gorge in Jiande, upstream of Qililong. A stream flows in from the north bank, the famous Xu Creek. Its source is Xuling, and its outlet is called Xukou. The section of the river at Xukou is called Xujiang. Boat trips are available at the Qili Yangfan Scenic Area on the Fuchun River.

Legend has it that Wu Zixu, a renowned general of the Warring States Period, was once pursued by the King of Chu here, with nowhere to go. Suddenly, a small boat came by and rescued him. Overwhelmed with gratitude, Zixu offered his sword as a gift. The boatman said, "Your sword isn't worth a fortune, is it? I admire your heroism, for standing up against the might of Chu. You know, the King of Chu has offered a ten-thousand-gold reward for your capture." Zixu, ashamed, was then held responsible for carrying him. He then committed suicide at a ferry crossing.

In order to commemorate him, later generations named the places related to him as Xuxi, Xuling, Xuledong, Xucun, etc., and built the Zixu Temple to commemorate him.
