Liuhe Cultural Park, located on the bank of the Qiantang River in Hangzhou, is home to Liuhe Pagoda, one of the iconic buildings of Hangzhou's tourist attractions. The peony planting area in the park has reached 4,000 square meters. It is the first place for Hangzhou residents to appreciate peonies, and a peony flower exhibition is held there every year.
Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty visited the Yangtze River Delta six times and ascended the Liuhe Pagoda and Kaihua Temple seven times to witness the magnificent scenery. Inspired by this, he inscribed plaques with his brush. Today, Liuhe Pagoda Park still preserves two precious Qianlong imperial steles: one on the first floor of the Pagoda, and the other in the Liuhe Stele Pavilion in Liuhe Cultural Park.

No need to book tickets in advance unless you plan to attend a specific performance or event. Tickets for these events can typically be booked a few days in advance.
A visit to the park usually takes 1 to 2 hours, depending on how much time you spend enjoying the scenery or exploring the cultural exhibits.
The main highlight is the beautifully landscaped gardens and the cultural performances. The lake and surrounding walking paths also provide picturesque views, especially near sunset.
Guided tours may be available upon request, but there are no standard audio guides. However, information signs in both Chinese and English are available throughout the park.
The lakeside areas and near the Liuhe Pagoda offer the best viewpoints for photography. The park’s gardens and walking paths also provide beautiful backdrops for photos, particularly at sunrise and sunset.
Start by exploring the main entrance gardens and then take a walk around the lake. Visit the cultural exhibits in the park, followed by some relaxing time near the Liuhe Pagoda for a peaceful end to your visit.
The park does not offer night visits or light shows, but the Liuhe Pagoda is illuminated at night, which offers a beautiful view from the park during the evening hours.
The park can get crowded on weekends and public holidays. The best time to visit is during weekdays in the early morning or late afternoon when it is quieter.
