Dinghu Peak in Xiandu, known for its unique peaks and rocks, picturesque landscapes, and breathtaking natural beauty, is a nationally recognized key scenic spot that blends rural scenery with cultural heritage. The area boasts winding Lianxi River, a ten-mile-long art gallery, lush green mountains and clear waters, and a dazzling display of clouds. The scenic beauty has earned it the reputation of "the wonder of Huangshan, the danger of Huashan, and the beauty of Guilin."
Literati and dignitaries throughout the ages have visited the area, leaving behind countless precious stone carvings and historical relics. Dinghu Peak is the centerpiece of the scenic area and a symbol of Xiandu. Resembling a bamboo shoot, Dinghu Peak pierces the sky, with a base area of 2,468 square meters, a summit area of 710 square meters, and a height of 170.8 meters. It is the tallest stone pillar in the world and is known as the "No. 1 Peak in the World."

Dinghu Peak is located in Lishui, Zhejiang. You can take a bus or taxi from the Lishui city center. The nearest major transportation hub is Lishui Railway Station. From there, taxis or local buses can take you to the mountain.
The site is open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The best times to visit are in spring and autumn when the weather is cool, and the scenery is most vibrant. It can get crowded during weekends and holidays, so visiting during weekdays is recommended.
The entrance fee is approximately ¥50-¥80. Tickets can be bought at the entrance on-site or online via popular travel platforms like Ctrip.
It is not mandatory to book tickets in advance, but it is recommended during peak seasons like national holidays. Booking a few days ahead is advisable during these times.
You will need about 3-4 hours to explore the main areas of Dinghu Peak, including hiking, visiting temples, and enjoying the views. If you plan to visit the nearby Dinghu Lake or other attractions in the area, you may need 5-6 hours.
Guided tours are available in Chinese, and English-speaking guides may be arranged in advance for a more personalized experience. Audio guides are typically available in Chinese.
Start with a hike to the summit of Dinghu Peak, visiting the various temples along the way. After reaching the top, take time to enjoy the views before descending and visiting Dinghu Lake for a peaceful boat ride to round off the experience.
Night visits and light shows are not available, as the attraction is mainly a natural site. Special tours can be arranged, but they are typically conducted during the day.
The peak seasons are during weekends and national holidays, when the site can get crowded. To avoid crowds, it’s best to visit on weekdays, particularly in the morning, and during off-peak seasons like spring and autumn.
There are basic facilities including toilets, rest areas, and small food stalls near the entrance. It’s advisable to carry your own water and snacks if you plan to hike extensively.
The main hiking path may be challenging for elderly or disabled visitors due to its steep terrain. However, the lower areas and Dinghu Lake are more accessible for families with children and elderly visitors.
