The Golden Lotus Pond, located in the Taoguang Temple of Lingyin Temple, is a pool where mountain springs converge. There is a stone carving of a dragon head spitting water at the mouth of the spring. This was also the place where Bai Juyi and Zen Master Taoguang drank tea and discussed Taoism.
Next to the pool, a long ladle and a funnel are placed for visitors to fill with water and savor the sweet mountain spring water. Chunyang Hall: Lü Dongbin, the leader of the Eight Immortals, is enshrined in the hall. Behind the hall is his retreat , the Danyah Treasure Cave. Lü Dongbin, originally named Lü Chunyang, was the founder of Quanzhen Taoism. Danyah Treasure Cave was where Lü Zu refined elixirs during the Tang Dynasty. Its strong magnetic field is said to benefit both the body and mind.
