Introducing Sanglu

Sanglu is located in the alley of No. 343 Xiaohe Road on the west bank of the canal . It was built in 1937. With its green bricks, red pillars, white jade and green courtyard, it can be regarded as the most novel, beautiful, elegant and bright house in traditional Chinese architecture. There are two pairs of stone lions in front of the door, and a small garden in front of the house with Taihu stones, flowers, plants, ponds, etc.

The earliest owner of Sanglu was Wang Xieru, who went to Japan to study sericulture. He then raised silkworms here again and spread foreign sericulture techniques. Sanglu also became one of the earliest silkworm breeding farms in Hangzhou to promote scientific sericulture, and played a certain role in promoting the development of the sericulture industry in the Hangzhou-Jiaxing-Huzhou area at that time and the introduction and dissemination of advanced sericulture techniques.
