Bazi Bridge is located in the Genshanmen area of ​​Hangzhou, at the intersection of the Grand Canal, Zhonghe River and Donghe River. It was built in the Southern Song Dynasty and is the oldest bridge on the Donghe River. It may have a history of nearly a thousand years. It is one of the rare ancient bridges in Hangzhou and is known as the No. 1 Bridge on the Donghe River in Hangzhou.

Historically, Bazi Bridge stood at the northern end of Qidong River. The "Kangxi Renhe Chronicle" records: " Bazi Bridge, with three creeks, is said to have been built by Daoluban (Ban) and rebuilt during the Kangxi reign. " A poem reads: " Banmen's immortal axe tested its spiritual power, and Shunying Bridge was built to commemorate the passing of time. Legend has it that Zhang Guolao once rode a donkey to rest at Fenghuang Pavilion. " The name " Shunying Bridge " in the poem suggests it was built during the Southern Song Dynasty.
