Introducing Guanting Reservoir

Guanting Reservoir, located on the border of Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, and Yanqing County, Beijing City, was the first large-scale reservoir built after the founding of the People's Republic of China. Its primary water source is the Yongding River in Huailai, Hebei Province. Once a major source of water for Beijing, it was later withdrawn from the city's drinking water system due to severe pollution.

Later, gardens were built along the shores of Guanting Reservoir, transforming it into a scenic spot near Beijing. Guanting Lake, in turn, connects to numerous surrounding tourist attractions. Today, Guanting Reservoir boasts excellent water quality, and its southern shore features steep rocky shores and a fine sandy beach.
