The Mangshan Apple Picking Orchard is located in northern Changping, at the confluence of the Taihang and Yanshan Mountains. This vast, hundreds-mile-long "piedmont warm zone" is a prime location for apple cultivation. In April 1980, the orchard successfully imported and planted original Red Fuji apples from Japan. After extensive testing, observation, and cultivation, our technical staff successfully selected a superior Fuji variety suitable for cultivation in Beijing. This fruit boasts a rich sweetness, a pleasant texture, and a high vitamin content. In 2008, it was awarded the title of "Famous Chinese Fruit." Mangshan offers stunning scenery and exceptionally fresh air year-round. Being able to personally select and pick apples is sure to enhance their deliciousness.

The Mangshan Apple Picking Garden is a popular agricultural attraction known for its apple orchards. It promotes agricultural tourism and provides visitors with hands-on experience in apple picking, making it a family-friendly activity.
Located in the suburbs of Beijing, the Mangshan Apple Picking Garden is accessible by taxi or private car. Public buses may also serve the area, but a taxi ride from central Beijing is the most convenient option.
The garden is typically open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The best time to visit is during the apple harvest season in late summer to fall, but spring and early summer offer pleasant weather for a visit as well.
The entrance fee is generally around 40 CNY per person. Tickets can be purchased on-site at the garden entrance or online through the official website.
Booking tickets in advance is not required, but it is advisable to do so during peak seasons, such as the apple harvest period. Booking 1-2 days in advance should be sufficient.
It takes about 2-3 hours to fully explore the orchard and enjoy activities such as apple picking and sightseeing. If you plan to stay longer for a picnic, you may want to set aside additional time.
Guided tours are available, primarily in Mandarin. However, English-speaking guides may be available upon request, especially during peak tourist seasons.
The best photography spots are within the apple orchards, especially during the harvest season when the trees are laden with fruit. The surrounding countryside offers picturesque views as well.
Night visits are not generally available at the Mangshan Apple Picking Garden, as it is mainly an outdoor daytime attraction. There are no light shows, but special tours may be organized during the harvest season.
The garden can get crowded during weekends and holidays, especially during the apple picking season. Weekdays, particularly early in the morning, tend to be less crowded.
The garden is accessible for children and elderly visitors, with paved paths and gentle slopes. However, some areas may not be ideal for visitors with mobility issues due to uneven terrain in parts of the orchard.
While cash is accepted, mobile payments (such as Alipay and WeChat Pay) are more commonly used and recommended for convenience.
Vegetarian and vegan options are available at some of the on-site food stalls. Halal options may be limited, but vegetarian dishes are typically offered.
There are a few mid-range hotels nearby, but for more luxury accommodations, you may need to travel to central Beijing, which is approximately 45 minutes away by car.
There is a souvenir shop that sells locally grown apples, apple juice, jams, and handmade products such as wooden crafts and preserves.
